Upskilling HR to work data driven
The world is digitalizing rapidly and also in HR working number-driven already became key.
Does that mean that HR professionals have to turn into hardcore data analysts? No, certainly not, but it is essential to develop a strong understanding of how to work number-driven. And that’s not only about a toolbox, it’s also pretty much about self-confidence in using numbers in your statements.
Our 3 modules focus on both – the skills to make data “talk to you” – spot patterns, to read and interpret numbers, build up business cases but also to tell the story in an impactful way. All three modules are built up in the same way:
The cases simulate real work experience and ensure that the knowledge (toolbox) gets tried out in a safe environment but at the same time participants develop the self confidence working number-driven.
In-person or virtual? There are both options possible – each module can be held as on-site training or on-line course (normally preferred as it can be flexible stretched over 1-3 weeks depending on availability of participants and preferences). The time investment is around 1,5 days per module and participant.
All modules are independent from each other. Some clients choose to start with the ‘story-telling’, most walk through all modules starting with module 1.
The main target group is business partners and other HR professionals working with internal clients. For the analytics department module 2 (putting a price tag on topics) and module 3 (story-telling) are most relevant.
For corporate clients who wants an internal training all modules and cases can be customized to the client organization (topic- and number-wise). Please contact us for a special offer based on the number of participants and scope of the training. There are open courses via our online academy please read more pressing the button below.
Module A
“What’s the problem?. This module will make data “talk” to you. You will be able to gain relevant and applicable insights from data – identifying and understanding a problem, drawing right conclusions and asking the right questions. Additionally, we bring you the tips and tricks for leveraging HR data as a useful tool instead of a frightening black box.
Module B
“What’s the impact of the problem and what does it cost?” This module kills the myth that people topics can’t be quantified and makes you ready for your next meeting with line management. “Show me the money” – this is what you will be able to do – putting a price tag on any people related problem – based on a simple approach you can do on a napkin.
Module C
“How do I present the problem and the impact?”. Ever found it hard to make management listen to your suggestions? In this module we will leverage the power of storytelling to bring management on board. Leverage your data-based insights and learn how to craft and deliver visually supported stories. Turn listeners into allies by selling your solution of a problem.
After the traning
“How do I get help after the training?”. The most crucial part is to transfer the training into real life. To support that we have established a coaching option (instead of “possibility”). HR professionals can draw on our trainers and coaches regarding very specific problems, getting a presentation right or a business case built up. It’s short interventions fostering the new knowledge and self confidence working number-driven. Especially when you are first time in a situation using it (the “it” is too much) a sparring partner for 30 minutes can be of invaluable help.
