High Value Indicators
Data is the new gold! From old-world reporting to high value metrics.
Data is the new gold! We know that from Google, Amazon, Spotify and Facebook. But this is also true for the HR function. Working number driven with high value indicators is the prerequisite to be successful and support the business in the best way.
From old-world reporting to high value metrics. Focus on what moves the needle most and is highly relevant for the business. Putting a price tag on a problem – HR is moving into a world of data and business cases talking money with line management.
Every week we help companies to shape a dashboard with high value indicators either before starting their HR IT project or leveraging an existing IT landscape. It does not have to be a complicated project – it can be done very lean over 12 hours in total.
Below you will find our 3 step model To powerful people analytics – which we use helping preparing your own high value indicator dashboard.
“8 out of 10 HR functions cannot monetarize the value they create”
Creating a high value dashboard based on the 100 most valuable metrics
It is a 3 times 3 hour workshop where we walk through all HR processes.
Input are more than 100 metrics where we know if something goes wrong the business case is potentially high. On top we have more than 30 scenarios consisting of several metrics each.
The purpose of the workshop is to present each metric with its high value topic behind (best practice) and to reflect immediately whether this is relevant for the client or not. Taking current maturity of HR and management into account as well as strategy, culture and values.
It’s used in several situations like:
After the workshop we fine-tune each metric in terms of dimensions (e.g. on which level you want to measure, for which target groups, geographical structure, diversity dimensions etc.). A final 2-3 hours meeting presents the final results and transfers hands-on best practices working number-driven (the steps to implement).
Define target ranges using our latest benchmark
Make it easy to define target ranges by using our benchmark
A metric only gets powerful if you have defined a valid target range.
We provide the latest benchmark and customize the target ranges for each metric for your organization (broken down to different employee levels if needed and relevant).
If this is done together with Step 1, we deliver this as part of the dashboard documentation 2-3 weeks after the workshop.
Putting a price tag on a problem using our prepared business case calculator
Make it easy to calculate each metric by using our business case calculator.
We have developed an expert tool called Business Case Calculator.
Each chosen metric can be implemented there in order to calculate what it costs if a metric deviates from the target range. That enables HR professionals and business to prioritize and focus on the most value creating stuff. The client gets full access to all formulas and assumptions – also in order to just implement it into their own IT landscape and tools (e.g. Tableau, ClickView, PowerBI).
The Business Case Calculator comes with a 3-hour crash course for a selected group of your colleagues who will act as superusers and support further roll-out.
Supporting an IT implementation workshop – getting the right numbers out of the system.
We also support in shaping a dashboard concept-wise, avoiding unnecessary noise and getting a high-value clean view to the users (also offering the relevant deep dives etc.).
